Indonesia witnesses spike in foreign tourists with the majority going to Bali
Foreign arrivals to Indonesia in September hit their highest level since the start of the pandemic, official data showed on Tuesday, as more visitors returned to resort destinations like Bali after an easing of Covid-19 restrictions. There were about 538,300 arrivals in September, up from only 5,000 in the same month a year ago, with the majority going to Bali, said Setianto, deputy head of Statistics Indonesia.

4.9 mn tourists visit Slovenia between January to September, 2022
The figures indicate an increase of 64.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. The domestic tourists made up almost 1.6 million arrivals, while guests from Germany, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands made up the majority of foreign arrivals. Besides, majority of international arrivals recorded, spent 1.1 million overnight stays.

Retail sales in September rose 0.2 per cent from a year earlier in value terms to stand at HKD 28.1 billion (USD 3.6 billion). San Francisco -Airbnb on Tuesday reported its highest quarterly profits ever, confirming that the travel industry continues its pandemic recovery in the face of historic inflation. In the third quarter, the home rental platform saw its net profit climb 46 percent year-over-year to $1.2 billion -- a result that would have been even higher without the negative impact of foreign exchange rates, the California-based company said.

Scindia flags off new UDAN flights as connectivity between Madhya Pradesh & Rajasthan gets a boost ahead of winter tourist season
The flight between Bhopal and Udaipur under UDAN-RCS will be operated by IndiGo. Earlier Bhopal was connected to five cities and now it is connected with nine cities. Sixteen UDAN routes have been allocated to Rajasthan out of which Udaipur will get six routes. Flight operation from Bhopal airport has increased from 94 to 178 flights per week.

With the winter schedule being implemented at airports, flight timings have been changed and connectivity increased as the tourist season kicks in, said officials. At Jaipur airport, new flights have been added with a maximum of 11 flights to Mumbai. Connectivity within the state has also been increased with daily flights to Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer being started.

As per the report, more than 75 aircraft are currently grounded, creating serious challenges against the backdrop of an already hostile cost environment and contributing to increased losses. The capacity has been impacted by serious supply chain issues impacting current and future deliveries, it said, adding that these issues are likely to proliferate in the fiscal starting April 2023 which, in turn, will impact future deliveries, the report said.
