Air travel: Centre relaxes rules for international passengers; scraps Air Suvidha form
The government on Monday scrapped the requirement to fill out the Air Suvidha form for people flying into India from foreign countries amid a declining number of coronavirus cases. The requirement to submit a negative RT-PCR report or details of the primary vaccination schedule has also been done away with for international arrivals.

Badrinath, Kedarnath get record INR 60 crore donations in Char Dham yatra, both record increase in 2022 visitor numbers
Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines this year received over INR 60 crore in donations, beating the record of INR 44 crore received during the 2019 Char Dham pilgrimage. Inspired by the huge response the Char Dham yatra got with 15.6 lakh visitors at Kedarnath and 17.6 lakh at Badrinath, plans are afoot to spruce up temples at places like Ukhimath and Triyuginarayan to boost winter religious tourism in the Himalayan state.

Assam announces new tourism policy
The Assam government on Monday launched a new sustainable tourism policy-2022 in Delhi in consultation with the World Bank aiming to create a strategic roadmap to strengthen tourism support segments and its sub-sectors, officials said. After conducting an “Assam Tourism Road Show” in the national capital, state’s Tourism, Public Health Engineering, Skill Development Employment and Entrepreneurship Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah announced the Tourism Policy-2022 to drive sustainable development in the state.

Rashtrapati Bhavan will be open for public viewing for five days a week from December 1, an official statement said on Monday. People can pay a visit on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, except on gazetted holidays, in five time slots of one hour each, from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm, it said.

Jamaica tourist arrivals for October 2022 surpass pre-pandemic levels
According to Jamaica Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, preliminary figures released by the Jamaica Tourist Board for the first three weeks of October show stopover visitor arrivals of 123,514. This topped figures for the same period in October 2019 by some 10,026, which saw 113,488 tourists visiting Jamaica. Stopover arrivals for the same period in October 2020 stood at 27,849.

Refund policy for safaris at Ranthambore National Park set for a tweak
The state forest department plans to modify the refund policy for tourists booking jungle safaris in Ranthambore National Park (RNP). Now tourists who cancel the booking seven days before their safari date will get a refund. There was earlier no refund on cancellation of advance bookings.

As portals of the Badrinath shrine, last of the four Char Dham temples to close for this year, were shut for a six-month winter break on Saturday afternoon, the annual Char Dham Yatra to the four Himalayan shrines of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri came to an end for this season. The closure process started in the morning.

Air India Express to launch two more services from Thiruvananthapuram airport
Air India Express will start two more international services from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The Thiruvananthapuram-Bahrain service will start on November 30, while the Thiruvananthapuram-Dammam service will start on 1 December. This will be the first service in Thiruvananthapuram - Dammam sector, according to a release issued by the airport here.

The Nashik airport will remain closed for 15 days from November 20 for maintenance works. It will reopen for commercial flights and defence aircraft from December 4. The Nashik airport is managed by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). As per the directives of the Directorate General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the relaying and maintenance work of the runway has to be carried out periodically.
